You are cordially invited to participate in a facilitated discussion prompted by the chapter “The radically inclusive studio: An open access dialogue between New York, Cape Town, and Brisbane” (Section 4, Chapter 19 of The Routledge Companion to Architectural Pedagogies of the Global South, edited by Harriet Harriss, Ashraf M. Salama, and Ane Gonzalez Lara).
The venue-based discussion, facilitated by the chapter authors, Michele Gorman, Hermie Elizabeth Delport, Jolanda Morkel, and Lindy Osborne Burton, involves student voices from three continents. It draws on asynchronously recorded contributions in video and text formats and will be recorded for an international audience.
The authors, Michele Gorman (Parsons New School, New York), Dr Jolanda Morkel (STADIO Higher Education), and Dr Hermie Delport (University of Cape Town), of the chapter, The Radically Inclusive Studio: An open access conversation between New York, Cape Town, and Brisbane, will present the background, methodology, outcomes and future research endeavours.
You will find this session relevant if you are currently or ever have been a student in the educational architecture or design studio, if you are an architectural or design practitioner with an interest in the education of students, or if you are interested in research into architectural or design education.
We would like to get your input on where we can take our research and how you might be able to participate.
We look forward to seeing you there! Please complete the RSVP by latest 20 March since our places are limited and read more about our work on our website https://theradicallyinclusivestudio.org/.
